Dr. AZIZ POLAT
Professional Experience
Dr. Aziz Polat brings over two decades of distinguished medical practice, primarily focusing on Child Health and Diseases with a specialization in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. His career commenced in 1988 as a General Practitioner at Kahramanmaraş-Elbistan SSK Dispensary, followed by a role as a Specialist Doctor at the Ministry of Health Çorum-Kargı State Hospital from 1992 to 1994. He then transitioned to Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases, where he progressed from Associate Professor from 1994 to 1996, to completing his Pediatric Hematology Sub-branch Specialization Training at Ege University Faculty of Medicine between 1996 and 1998. Dr. Polat ascended to the rank of Associate Professor at Pamukkale University from 1998 to 2004, before being appointed as a Professor Doctor in the same department from 2004 to 2016. More recently, he has contributed his expertise to Private Isparta Hospital from 2019 to 2021 and is currently associated with Acıbadem Health Group since 2022.
Education
Dr. Polat’s foundational medical education was obtained at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1987. He completed his specialization in Child Health and Diseases at Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. His pursuit of advanced knowledge led him to specialize in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. Further academic achievements include becoming an Associate Professor at Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine in 1998, and attaining the title of Professor Doctor at Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine in 2004.

Dr. Polat has made significant contributions to the field through his research and publications. His scholarly work includes investigations into M.Pentraxin-3 Levels in Beta Thalassemia Major and Minor Patients, the Evaluation of Reticulocyte Parameters in various types of Anemia, and the Response to parenteral iron therapy. He has also authored studies on the Perioperative management of patients with Bernard-Soulier syndrome, Serum Vitamin B12 and folate concentrations, Adipocytokine concentrations in children with beta-thalassemia, Thalassemia Premarital Screening Programs, Total Oxidative Stress and Antioxidant Capacity in iron-deficiency anemia, Psychopathology in thalassemia major, and the Interaction between anemia and blood levels of essential trace elements in children. His publications have appeared in esteemed journals such as J Pediatr Hematol Oncol, Clin Lab, Int Jnl Lab Hem, Blood Coagul Fibrinolysis, Scand J Clin Lab Invest, Int J Hematol and Oncol, J Clin Lab Anal, Pediatric Int, and Indian J Pediatr.
