Dr. FILIZ GULUSTAN
Education
Dr. Filiz Gulustan completed her medical training at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2004. She then specialized in Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases at the esteemed Izmir Ataturk Training and Research Hospital, graduating in 2010.
Professional Experience
Dr. Gulustan has cultivated over a decade of robust clinical experience in the field of Ear, Nose, and Throat. Her career journey includes serving as a Research Assistant at Izmir Ataturk Training and Research Hospital from 2005 to 2010. Following this, she advanced to the role of Specialist Doctor at Izmir Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital’s ENT Clinic from 2011 to 2014. She then dedicated her expertise to Bakırköy Dr Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, initially as a Specialist Doctor from 2014 to 2022, before being promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2022. Her extensive experience culminates in her current position at Acıbadem Health Group, commencing in 2024.

Dr. Gulustan is a recognized expert within the ENT community, holding an Associate Professor title. Her commitment to advancing the field is demonstrated through her active memberships in several prestigious medical organizations. Dr. Filiz Gulustan is a prolific contributor to otolaryngology literature, with a significant body of published research. Her work spans critical areas such as delayed-onset facial paralysis following cochlear implantation, diagnostic value of fine-needle aspiration biopsy in salivary gland masses, and the efficacy of various surgical techniques for ossicular chain reconstruction. She has published extensively on topics including hearing thresholds in stapedotomy, treatment of otomycosis, and the relationship between eustachian tube dimensions and middle ear cholesteatoma. Dr. Gulustan has also investigated sensorineural hearing loss in cholesteatoma cases and the learning curve associated with septoplasty. Her research further explores intratympanic steroid injection and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for sudden hearing loss, as well as facial canal dehiscence in chronic otitis media.
