Education
Dr. Fuat Bilgen pursued his medical education at the prestigious Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1983. He further honed his surgical expertise at the Dr. Siyami Ersek Chest, Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital, completing his specialization in Cardiovascular Surgery in 1990. His academic journey led him to earn the title of Associate Professor from Istanbul University in 1997, and subsequently a Professorship at Hasan Kalyoncu University from 2011 to 2013.
Professional Experience
Dr. Bilgen has amassed over thirty years of invaluable experience in Cardiovascular Surgery. His career highlights include serving as the Chief Assistant in Cardiovascular Surgery at Siyami Ersek Hospital from 1990 to 1998, followed by an Associate Professorship at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine from 1998 to 1999. He then assumed the crucial role of Clinic Chief in Cardiovascular Surgery at Siyami Ersek Chest Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital from 1999 to 2010. From 2010 to 2017, he directed the Cardiovascular Surgery Directorate at Private Erdem Hospitals. Since 2017, he has been actively contributing his expertise to Acıbadem Health Group and Istanbul Aydin University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, engaging in both academic and educational activities.
International Experience and Observation
Dr. Bilgen’s commitment to advancing his skills is underscored by his international clinical observation. In 1994, he had the opportunity for clinical observation at the renowned Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, USA. During the same year, he also worked at the Cleveland Clinic, USA, holding International Scholar status, demonstrating a dedication to global best practices in cardiovascular surgery.
