Dr. Hannes Nordmeyer is a distinguished leader in interventional neuroradiology, currently serving as the Chief Physician at the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at University Hospital Solingen. Since 2023, he has directed a leading facility equipped with the state-of-the-art ‘Artis Icono’ neuroangiograph, ensuring patients receive the most advanced neurovascular care available.

His career showcases a strong trajectory of leadership and specialized practice. Dr. Nordmeyer previously headed the Neurointerventional Department at St. Lukas Hospital in Solingen from 2018 to 2023. Prior to this, he was a key physician in the Department of Interventional Neuroradiology at Alfried Krupp Hospital in Essen from 2011 to 2018. His earlier experience in diagnostic and interventional radiology was gained at HELIOS Clinic in Wuppertal from 2007 to 2011, following crucial neurosurgical and neurological training at Alfried Krupp Hospital in Essen between 2003 and 2007. Dr. Nordmeyer’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology has established him as a highly respected expert.

Dr. Nordmeyer’s medical education commenced at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany, where he graduated in 1997. His global perspective on medicine was broadened through international study at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and Linköping University in Sweden.

He advanced his academic standing by earning his MD degree in 2008 for research focused on the “Activation of working memory in patients in the early stage of multiple sclerosis – an MRI study,” demonstrating a dedication to advancing neurological understanding through research.

As a specialist in radiology with a profound focus on neuroradiology, Dr. Nordmeyer holds DeGIR/DGNR certification for minimally invasive neurovascular procedures. His expertise is particularly recognized within the Stroke Treatment Module E.

Dr. Nordmeyer specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurovascular conditions and vascular malformations. His role as a certified investigator for clinical trials under MDR/MPDG and AMG regulations highlights his significant contribution to pioneering medical research and the development of new treatment protocols.
