Professional Experience

Dr. Kayihan Uluc brings over two decades of dedicated experience to the field of Neurology. Currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Neurology at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Uluc has a distinguished career marked by leadership and specialization. He joined the Acıbadem Health Group in 2022, further expanding his impact. Prior to this, he was a faculty member at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, from 2009 to 2022. His leadership extended to heading the Clinical Neurophysiology department at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine from 2011 to 2017. Dr. Uluc also served as a Neurology Specialist at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine from 2006 to 2009. His commitment to advancing the field is further evidenced by his current role as a Board Member of the Turkish Neurology Association, a position he has held since 2017.

Education

Dr. Uluc’s academic foundation is robust, culminating in specialized training and advanced degrees in Neurology. He achieved the title of Professor at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology in 2016. His specialization in Clinical Neurophysiology was recognized by the Medical Specialization Board in 2011. He attained Associate Professor status at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, in 2009. Further deepening his expertise, Dr. Uluc earned a Master’s Degree in Electrodiagnostic Neurology from Marmara University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Neurological Sciences in 2009. His foundational medical education was completed at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, where he completed his Neurology residency in 2004 and his general medical studies in 1997.

Notable publications include research on the accuracy of MRI in idiopathic intracranial hypertension, physical and mental fatigue in myasthenia gravis, neuropathic pain frequency, and reference jitter values for muscles. His work also delves into sleep apnea’s impact on neuromuscular transmission, genetic mutations in neurological diseases like ALS and spastic-ataxia phenotypes, and carpal tunnel syndrome in sleep apnea patients.
