Professional Experience
Dr. Muhsin Eraslan has dedicated his career to advancing patient care and research in ophthalmology. Since 2022, he has been a respected member of the Acıbadem Health Group, contributing his specialized knowledge. Prior to this, he held the esteemed position of Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, beginning in 2017. His academic journey at Marmara University commenced as an Assistant Professor from 2012 to 2017, following his foundational role as a Research Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology from 2005 to 2010. Dr. Eraslan further honed his skills and deepened his expertise through a prestigious Ophthalmology/Glaucoma Research Fellowship at the renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in 2015. His early career included serving as an Ophthalmology Specialist at the Sinop Ataturk State Hospital Ophthalmology Clinic from 2010 to 2012.

Notably, he has authored and co-authored studies on standalone XEN implant versus combination procedures for glaucoma, diurnal intraocular pressure spikes in uveitic glaucoma, and changes in ocular blood flow after carotid artery stenting. His research also explores the neurodegenerative effects in both ocular and central nervous systems using optical coherence tomography, comparing patients with normal-tension glaucoma and Alzheimer’s disease. Further contributions include studies on the electrophysiological effects of mesenchymal stem cells in diabetic rats and the comparison of OCT findings in primary open-angle glaucoma and Parkinson’s disease.
