Professional Experience
Dr. Mustafa Karahan has dedicated his career to advancing the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology, accumulating extensive experience since commencing his practice. He has been a key figure at Acıbadem Health Group since 2007, contributing his expertise to patient care and orthopedic advancements. Prior to this, he spent significant years at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, where he progressed from Research Assistant (1988-1993) through Specialist Doctor (1993-1995) and Assistant Professor (1995-1998), culminating in his appointment as Associate Professor in 1998 and Professor in 2004. His early career also included a tenure with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Health Affairs Department from 1985 to 1988.
Education
Dr. Karahan’s foundational medical education was obtained at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1985. He then pursued advanced studies in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, completing his specialization in 1993. His academic journey continued at Marmara University, where he earned his Associate Professorship in 1998 and achieved the title of Professor in 2004, solidifying his academic standing in the field.

Notable publications include studies on the effect of meniscectomy on knee proprioception, the use of Mitomycin C to reduce adhesions after knee surgery, and intraoperative measurements of gracilis muscle forces. He has also authored research on modified osteotomies for patellofemoral dislocations and the application of Mitomycin-C in tendon surgery.
