Professional Experience
Dr. Ufuk Aydinli brings over three decades of profound experience in Orthopedics and Traumatology, with a specialized focus on advanced Spine Health. His career journey has been dedicated to patient care and the advancement of spinal surgical techniques. He has held significant academic positions, including Professor at Uludag University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Trauma, from 1998 to 2010, and Associate Professor from 1988 to 1993. Dr. Aydinli’s international exposure includes a valuable research assistant and clinical student period at the University of Virginia School of Medicine between 1976 and 1978, and a fellowship at the Minnesota Spine Center in the USA from 1991 to 1992. He has been associated with Acıbadem Atasehir Hospital since 2023 and has been in private practice as an Office Physician since 2010. Prior to these roles, he served as a Specialist Doctor at Kesan State Hospital (1986-1988) and Samsun Military Hospital (1985-1986), following his specialization training.
Education
Dr. Aydinli completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Ondokuz Mayis University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. His medical degree was also obtained from Ondokuzmayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. Earlier, he enriched his foundational medical knowledge with a research assistant and clinical student period at the University of Virginia School of Medicine from 1976 to 1978.
Professional Affiliations and Leadership
Dr. Aydinli’s commitment to advancing the field of spine surgery is evident through his extensive leadership roles in prominent national and international medical societies. He served as President of the Spine Expert Group in 2010 and was an AO International Trustee from 2015 to 2019. His involvement with AO Spine includes membership on the International Education Committee (2010-2013), serving as AOSpine Europe Education Advisor from 2013 to the present, and Chairing AOSpine Turkey from 2007 to 2010. He was also a member of the AOSpine International Core Curriculum Committee and AOSpine Europa Education (Ortho) Chairperson from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Aydinli was an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society and the Spine Society of Europe from 1996 to 2008. His significant contributions to the Turkish Spine Society include serving on its board, as President of the Educational Committee, and ultimately as President of the Turkish Spine Society.

Dr. Aydinli is a prolific researcher with numerous contributions to the scientific literature, particularly in complex spinal procedures and biomechanics. His recent publications include studies on titanium mesh cage placement and spinal osteotomies, appearing in journals such as Brain and Spine and the Journal of Turkish Spinal Surgery in 2023. He has also authored research on spinal fusion techniques, neurological deficit risks, and surgical modifications for vertebral column resection, with notable works in Global Spine Journal, Spine, and Acta Orthopaedica Belgica. His research explores outcomes of surgical treatments for malignant sacrum tumors, analyses of segmental mobility following scoliosis correction, and novel iliosacral fixation techniques.
