Professor Keil is an acknowledged expert in interventional radiology, specializing in the introduction of novel interventional techniques and the advanced training of physician assistants. His practice is characterized by a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary cooperation, ensuring comprehensive patient management. He has been instrumental in developing and applying modern imaging modalities, including ultrasound, CT, and MRI, to perform complex medical interventions. Since 2022, Professor Keil has led the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Academic Hospital Solingen as Chief Physician, a testament to his extensive experience and leadership.
Education and Early Career
Professor Keil earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, where he graduated with honors in 2004. His foundational medical practice commenced in Hamburg, where he gained significant experience and successfully completed his doctoral thesis within the radiology department of the Hamburg-Alton Clinic, recognized at the time as a premier radiology center in Germany and Europe. This early exposure laid the groundwork for his future specialization.
Advanced Training and Mentorship
In 2006, Professor Keil advanced his career at the University Hospital Aachen. Under the esteemed tutelage of Professor Doctor Rolf W. Günther, a recognized pioneer in German interventional radiology, he significantly deepened his expertise. He continued his development within Professor Günther’s team and subsequently under Professor Doctor Christian K. Kuhl. During his tenure at Aachen, he held key leadership roles, including leading physician of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Clinic from 2010 and supervising lead physician from 2016 to 2022, demonstrating consistent growth and responsibility in his field.
