Higher education:
Professor Keil obtained his medical degree in southern Germany at the Faculty of Medicine of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, where he graduated with honours in 2004.
Medical practice:
His professional career began in Hamburg, where he gained primary experience and brilliantly defended his doctoral thesis in the radiology department of the Hamburg-Alton Clinic, at that time one of the most advanced radiology centres in Germany and Europe.
In 2006, Professor Keil moved to the University Hospital Aachen, where he deepened his knowledge and skills in this field under the guidance of the renowned Professor Doctor Rolf W. Günther, a recognised pioneer in the field of interventional radiology in Germany.
In Professor Günther’s team and later under the guidance of the clinic director, Professor Doctor Christian K. Kuhl, Professor Keil successfully applied modern imaging techniques such as ultrasound, CT and MRI to perform complex medical interventions.
In 2010, he was appointed as the leading lead physician of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Clinic.
From 2016 to 2022, he held the position of supervising lead physician of the clinic under Professor Doctor Kuhl.
Since 2022, Professor Keil has been Chief Physician of the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Academic Hospital Solingen.
